NAIL ART TUTORIAL: ALL THAT GLITTERS IS GOLD
SO MUCH glitter - almost every single brand of nail polish has glitter in their current line up. Our favourite right now is OPI’s Muppet Collection – filled with big hexagonal glitter (our weakness) & bright eye-catching colours, they are a perfect way to dress up any boring mani. Alexa Chung tweeted these green glitter ombres & we figured with all this glitter around we would give them a try, plus they look so cute! We wanted to make it more obnoxious/amazing so we paired it with a metallic base. Metallic + multicolour glitter =so much fun on one nail. Also, we had no idea AA had two new metallics – Gold Flash & Bronze Dash (we bought both)
Step 1: after applying base coat, apply two coats of American Apparel Gold Flash. This colour applied so nicely, its gold with silver undertones, we were tempted to stop here.
Step 2: Using OPI Rainbow Connection drag the brush back from tip to base. Use excess small glitters all over nail to create an ombre effect. Rainbow connection is a thick formula for a glitter, so it works perfectly for this nail art.
Step 3: finish all nails & repeat process 3 more times, making it heavy on the tips. This nail art is ideal when your polish is a few days old with tip wear & you want to just jazz it up a bit.
This is one of the easiest nail art ideas & also one of our favourites. Glitter nails are a perfect way to dress up an outfit, especially if your prone to wearing a lot of black (guilty). Change it up with different base + glitter combinations to make different looks. Glitter party on your nails, you’re all invited.
