NAIL ART TUTORIAL: THE CAT’S MEOW
If you aren’t one, you know one – crazy cat ladies. Cats – so cute & fluffy and they basically rule the internet. We openly admit our obsession & one of us recently got a Persian himalayan kitten causing things to spiral out of control. Combining our two obsession, today’s tutorial brings the cute creatures to our tips in a more difficult nail art design that we hope our fellow cat ladies & nail polish addicts alike can enjoy!
Step 2: To begin creating the heads of the cats, paint a semi-circle from the tip of the nail – you can do this with the brush from the bottle to get a full opaque colour. Once the shape of the head is complete, using a nail art brush paint two tiny ears at the top of the circle. We wanted to add a little diversity with are kitties so we changed the coat colours for each nail. For the middle finger, we added darker brown to the tips and nose to look like a himalayan. For the orange coat, we added OPI – Y’all Come Back Ya Hear? over top of Essie – Tart Deco, OPI’s jelly polish created some depth to the coat.
Step 3: Using a dotting tool, dot two white eyes just under the ears of the cat. Then add the eye colour, again we tried to create some variety – blue, green, yellow and brown. When both layers have dried completely, add the last tiny black dot to complete the eyes.
We luvz kittehs. You can change this nail art design by having all similar cats, an accent nail kitten or painting your own kitty. Show us your favourite furry nail art friends, whether you’re a cat lover, dog lover, bird lover etc – we’d love to see your designs.
