NAIL ART TUTORIAL: BRING IN THE BRIGHTS
On our recent trip to Pacific Mall, we picked up stripe tape – we’ve been searching for this stuff for soooo long (when PYP was just a twinkle in our eye), so you can imagine how excited we were to finally find it in an array of colours. Today’s tutorial brings in some of our favourite brights for a clean looking finish that can’t be ignored.
Step 1: Apply a base coat and paint your nails with two coats of OPI – Don’t Know…Beets Me. This classic hot pink shade applies so smooth & seems to be one of the first hot pinks we always reach to for tutorials – if photographs so well! 
Step 2: Using OPI – Fly from the Nicki Minaj collection, free hand a stripe down the centre of each nail. If you do not feel comfortable doing so, you can tape off the centre area using Scotch tape. The sides do not have to be perfect as we will be covering them up in Step 3.
Step 3: Using black stripe tape, cut two pieces for either side of the centre. Try to cut the tape as close to the tip of your nail as possible and lightly file down the remaining tape so none of it hangs over the edge. You could definitely stop at this step for a clean racing stripe look – we think this would look great in classic b&w. 
Step 4: Using a dotting tool in black polish, paint random polka dots in the middle of OPI -Fly, and viola! Your nail art design is now complete!
We are obsessed with stripe tape & can’t wait to try more designs -we are looking for different ways to incorporate it in future tutorials. This design & colour of this tutorial have such an 80s vibe to it…i guess you could say that we have a thing for 80s. we found it at a Chinese market (they had tons of great nail items!), but if you aren’t able to find it locally, it can be purchased online. if you google “nail stripe tape” there are a few options that come up. we ordered more off http://dollarnailart.com/cat_pages/striping_1.html hope that helps!
