NAIL ART TUTORIAL: ABSTRACT 3.1 PHILLIP LIM
The Fall 2012 3.1 Phillip Lim show brought bold black and whites to the runway with a mix of beautifully clean abstract prints – you can’t help but draw inspiration from them. Blown away by the designs, we decided to create a nail art look inspired by our favourite piece that came down the runway. We find it always works best to pull ideas from the things around you, and the runways are constant inspiration!

Step 1: After applying a base coat, paint nails with two coats of Sally Hansen – Lavender Cloud. We scored this polish 50% off & we absolutely fell in love! This is a white based polish with just a hint of light violet – perfect to replicate the B&W design, but also add our own little flair.
Step 2: Using a nail art brush, create the outline of the design – it almost looks like architectural M’s, or an abstract skyline. We used the print and these ideas to create slightly different patterns on each nail. This is where you get your nail improv on!
Step 3: Fill in the blanks of the design with your black polish (China Glaze – Liquid Leather) & seal in your design with Seche Vite top coat.
We love designs inspired by upcoming fashions – take a note from Miss LadyFinger herself & create your favourite outfit on your finger tips (also, much more affordable!). Let us know what runway designs you’d like to see from PYP on Facebook or Twitter!
