NAIL ART TUTORIAL: CONFETTI CELEBRATION
Lately we’ve been drawn to candy looking nail designs & we think we’ve finally got our sugar fix. Sometimes an easier nail art design with a great colour palette has a better result vs. the tougher level designs. So, today we stayed simple & sweet, adding in some bright shades to create confetti nails – they almost look like little jelly beans!
Step 1: After applying a base coat, paint nails with two coats of a nice bright white – we used Essie-Blanc. We wanted a nice plain bright background to make our confetti colours pop & white always seems to do the trick.
Step 2: Once your base colour has dried, take 2 of your 4 colours and paint vertical dash down one side of your nail – alternating the colours as you go down. Repeat this step with the remaining 2 colours for the next row. Then switch all 4 of the colours for new pairs & repeat for the remaining lines to create some variation. We used a colour scheme we’ve been dying to test out: Misa – Push Up Bra, Colour Club – Blue-Ming, Avon – Sunshine & Colour Club -Lavendarling. Both Colour Club shades are included in the Blossoming collection giveaway - don’t forget to enter!
Step 3: Clean up the edging of your dashes and seal in your design with Seche Vite top coat. Voilà - confetti party!
The great thing about this design is that your lines don’t have to be perfectly straight – the different sizes add to your look, creating a unique finish. Confetti celebration can be done with any colour palette or number of colours you’d like – this would look great with a black background and glitter streamers or a full monochromatic design. These nail are ready to party, are you? Let us know what you think of our celebratory nails on Twitter or Facebook!
