NAIL ART TUTORIAL: FEELING STATIC
This weekend we travelled up North for a little birthday getaway – it was so nice to head away from the city & into the fresh air and foliage. But alas, back to real life – we’ve been on this abstract art train lately, experimenting with patterns and designs vs. things. So, we thought we’d try one out for today’s post:
Step 1: After applying a base coat, paint nails with 2 coats of TopShop – Stolen Sapphires. This colour was a birthday gift & a great addition to our collection – it has a blue base with a tint of violet, not too dark and not too bright.
Step 2: Using China Glaze – White on White and nail art brush begin painting a zig-zag pattern at random – we did one long folded zig-zag vs. rows and rows spacing it around across the whole nail.
Step 3: Sharpen up the points of your zig-zag tips with a nail art brush. The design looks great at this step but we wanted to add a little more so we dotted some China Glaze – Happy Go Lucky spots at some of the tips. Seal in the design with a fresh coat of Seche Vite.
This design ended up looking like an abstract connect-the-dots/constellations (maybe in our subconscious from up North). This look can be done with any colour combination, especially a nice white background with neon print. The zig-zag pattern takes quite a bit of patience and a steady hand – we recommend trying it out on a scrap piece of paper to see how big/small you are able to do. We’ve got something brewing this week on PYP – check back daily so you don’t miss out!

I will try this one next weekend… thanks! I love it
