NAIL ART TUTORIAL: CHANEL RESORT 2013
We both fell in the love with the Chanel Resort 2013 show in Versailles – from the makeup, to the set design, to the clothing itself (obviously!), we loved it all! We wanted to create a nail art design inspired by the show – highlighting the floral palette used, as well as bringing in some of the delicate ruffles & lace fabric. When BeautyBlitz.com asked us to create a design inspired by summer fashion, we knew it was a match made in heaven. (See full post: here)
Step 1: After applying a base coat, paint nails with 2 coats of China Glaze – For Audrey. We seriously never get sick of this classic Tiffany blue shade – it also didn’t help that we spotted the colour on the Queen B herself.
Step 2: Use the ombre makeup sponge method (we seriously can not stop ombreing our nails) with Color Club – Hydrangea Kiss. This colour matches the cornflower blue we’ve seen throughout the Chanel Resort collection. We seriously almost stopped here – LOVE these two shades together.
Step 3: The collection was also filled with lace, ruffles and delicate fabrics that we wanted to translate to our design. Using a nail art pen in white begin painting semi circles along the base of each nail. Complete about 3-4 shows of semi-circles on each nail. To mimic the lace edge , create point in-between each semi circle – about 3-4 each nail. Finally, using a dotting tool, place two dots on the end of each top and seal in your design with a top coat & you’re set!
The full collection had a very Marie Antoinette vibe & we tried to capture that look with this design. Chancel Resort 2013 nails – good enough to walk down the runway of Versailles? Let us know what you think on Twitter or Facebook!
