NAIL ART TUTORIAL: PURPLE GRADIENT
Julep week continues on PYP, this time we wanted to show you a design using only two shades that’s both easy & impressive looking! For some reason we don’t incorporate purple too much into our tutorials, so we wanted to show some love to the hue.
Step 1: After applying a base coat, paint nails with two coats of Julep – Morgan. This polish is a pretty lilac with a little bit of a pink undertone & applied evenly with just two coats.
Step 2: Using some nail art tape, cut 3 strips per nail. Place all three strips on nail – once base colour has dried. Make sure tape is secured on the nail so no polish leaks in the next step.
Step 3: Using an eyeshadow applicator, dip the sponge tip into Julep – Renee. Renee is a darker purple with high intensity shine and shimmer, a great colour to transition into Fall. Begin the ombre process – start with heavier application towards the tip, pressing lighter near the base. Once this has dried, peel off your nail art tape & seal in your design with a top coat.
Julep is a fun hand, foot & nail care company with 4 salons in the Seattle area. They also came up with the idea to share their love of nail polish & finding new shades with everyone – for $19.99/month you can receive a package from Julep tailored to your style! You can purchase Julep polish online for $14/bottle here.
The gradient design is perfect for using one Summer polish + one Fall polish for your transition months. Tweet@PolishYouPretty + @JulepMaven & tell us your thoughts of our Paint Splatter tutorial! Check back tomorrow for some more Julep nail art!

So smart to use an eyeshadow applicator instead of a sponge. Very cute design

Here’s another great manicure that I will have to try myself. Love the idea of using an eyeshadow applicator to add the gradient. Very clever!! Anyone else going to try this one?
Thanks for reading!

You actually swapped the nail polishes! Renee is the light lilac one while Morgan is the frosty purple
