PYP Round-up: Toronto Word MasterCard Fashion Week
Hello readers! We want to apologize in advance for this long over-due post. We’ve been extremely busy recently with new and exciting PYP projects that we can’t wait to share – stay tuned!
About two weeks ago we were lucky enough to attend Toronto’s World MasterCard Fashion Week with Maybelline Canada. Maybelline granted usbackstage access to some of Toronto’s best shows where we met and interviewed the wonderful Grace Lee, lead Maybelline make-up artist. We were so happy that we could get back stage for both the Pink Tartan and Joe Fresh shows – two of the most anticipated shows of WMFW. Grace certainly brought her beauty A-game, designing fresh looks that complimented the designers pieces perfectly.
The key takeaway from these shows were fresh, dewey faces. Absolutely nothing was overdone. Grace focused on stripping the looks down and focusing on the fashion and the models, not the makeup. We love that these were looks that we could all achieve ourselves.
Faces were prepped using Maybelline’s BB cream as a base and a little bit of baby lips balm on the high points of the face, bridge of the nose, and chin. These two simple things made the girl’s faces look complete and no blush was used for either show.
Grace also introduced us to a new Maybelline mascara called The Rocket. Our jaws literally hit the floor when we saw it in action. The mascara built fast and looked perfect for an everyday look – you can expect this in stores November 27th (get excited!). The model’s looks were completed with champagne shades in the inner corner of their eye and a light application of colour to the lip.
Below are some of our favourite photos from the event. We saw the one and only Charlotte Free as she took her Canadian debut in the Pink Tartan show and even managed to snap a photo with supermodel Pat Cleveland who walked in the Joe Fresh show – she was fierce! We made sure to stop by the Essie stand to get a fresh mani (more exciting things to come there) and snapped a few photos of nail art that was being used for another show. Hope you enjoy!
