NAIL ART TUTORIAL: GINGHAM STYLE
Oppa Gingham Style! (Sorry, we HAD TO) With all the cold weather and winter drab, we were excited to add some pops of colour onto our tips. OPI recently introduced their Sunny Fingers and Toes mini collection - chalked full off staple brights and classic basics this mini set is perfect for all nail polish lovers. The set of nail polish includes 10 3.75ml bottles of the following shades:
- My Boyfriend Scales Walls
- Rosy Future
- Aphrodite’s Pink Nightie
- Pompeii Purple
- Call Me Gwen Ever
- Cajun Shrimp
- San Tantonio
- Dutch Ya Just Love OPI
- The Thrill Of Brazil
- Russian Navy
We wanted to incorporate the shades into a nail art design that was fresh and summery and made us forget about the cold winds and snow on the ground!
Step 1: After applying a base coat, paint nails with 3 light coats of My Boyfriend Scales Walls – a creme white polish with a slight hint of grey.
Step 2: Paint two solid squares down the centre of each nail about 3/4 of an inch in length. We wanted to create a slight ombre with the shades orange to purple – the colours used: Call Me Gwen Ever, Cajun Shrimp, The Thrill of Brazil & Dutch Ya Just Love OPI.
Step 3: Using a skinny stripper brush, begin creating your gingham pattern with three thin stripes vertical and horizontal – creating a grid. Seal in your gingham pattern with a top coat!
We love how these turned out, a lot easier than we has originally thought. What do you think of our Gingham Style nail art tutorial? Let us know what you think on Twitter or Facebook!

Your nails are lovely, looks rather hard to do tho!!
I love your blog, so many pretty designs! This one, while still pretty, to me it doesn’t really look like “gingham” but rather more like a houndstooth-ish design…
Whoop whoop whoop
Those nails are too cool! Love it!
I love this!
So cute! If you did it with black on white it would be a killer dogtooth pattern – thanks for this, have just followed you!
