Self care is massively on trend right now, and no one could deny the fact that it pays to look after ourselves. But how often do we stop to think about our ears, and services such as ear wax removal in London?
It might not be as popular as booking in a manicure or a massage, but it’s every bit as important. After all, hearing is one of our most important senses, and we want to preserve it for as long as possible.
Here are some practical ways in which you can take better care of your ears…
Give yourself a break
Are you always dashing about with your earphones in? Whether you’re listening to music or your favourite podcast, it can be a great way to entertain yourself when you’re commuting or getting from A to B.
Start being mindful of your headphone usage, and cut it down to a maximum of an hour a day. Not only will this be kinder on your ears, but you’ll probably find that you appreciate your music much more when you’re taking time to listen to it properly, instead of just constantly seeking background noise.
Stop using cotton buds
For many years, we’ve been lead to believe that cotton buds are the best way to keep our ears clean. In reality though, this just isn’t true. You might even be causing more harm than good by taking this approach.
Remember that a little ear wax is completely normal, and in fact important for ear health. If you have excess wax, then consider making an appointment with a professional.
Have you stopped to think about how you can take care of your ears? Will you be taking these tips on board?
