Over the past couple of months, I’ve had a big question on my mind… What exactly makes the dream wedding venue? See, I’m not getting married myself anytime soon. I’m happily single, and I’ve got no plans to walk down the aisle. This summer though, I’ll be maid of honour for my best friend, and we’ve spent so much time together researching the options, and trying to find the very best.
A venue is so important… It sets the tone for one of the biggest days of your life, and there are so many different options out there. This can be a good thing, but it can also make decision-making really tough. So without any further ado, here’s what we’ve realised makes a dream wedding venue…
Somewhere that reflects your personal style
Your wedding day should represent your and your partner’s personalities. If you love country living and getting away from the hustle and bustle, then a rustic location might be just the ticket. Click here to take a look at Botleys Mansion – it’s totally dreamy, and ticks so many different boxes!
Alternatively, maybe you’re a couple of beach bums who love nothing more than catching some rays and enjoying cocktails on the sand. If that’s the case, you might want to consider eloping to sunnier climes!
Somewhere with a wedding planner on hand to help you
You really don’t realise the level of planning that goes into a wedding until you’re faced with the task. There are just so many things to think about, and if you’re trying to manage it all on your own, the stress can really start to take over your life.
For this reason, it makes sense to select a venue that will also provide a wedding planning service. A professional will be able to keep you on the right track, connect you with reputable suppliers in the area, and ensure that the big day itself runs without any hiccups.
Somewhere that fits into your budget
Okay, so a budget isn’t the most exciting thing when you’re talking about weddings. But it really is vitally important that you consider this factor. The last thing that you want to do is begin married life with bills looming over you that you simply can’t afford.
This doesn’t mean that you can’t have somewhere really special. There are plenty of wedding venues that offer special deals. Getting married on a weekday, for example, is often much more affordable. Be sure to ask about any offers that might be available.
What I’ve really learned recently is that a dream wedding venue is slightly different for absolutely everyone. If you’re a bridesmaid, then of course you don’t need to make any decisions yourself. Just be there for your friend to talk to, and offer opinions when you’re asked for them. Ultimately, they need to make a decision that they’re going to be happy with!
Have you ever helped someone to plan a wedding? How did you go about selecting the perfect venue for their needs?
